RecyClass Recycling Process Certification recognised by the Blue Angel ecolabel
Strengthening RecyClass’ position as the European hub for certifying circular plastics12 Jul 2023

Following the Audit Scheme procedures review by the European co-organization for Accreditation[1], the RecyClass Recycling Process Certification[2] is now also recognised by the Blue Angel[3], German ecolabel that serves as a guide for purchasing environmentally friendly products.

The recognition is linked to the Blue Angel certification for Products made from Recycled Plastics – DE-UZ 30a[4]. Within the scope of this certification, the conditions for traceability and use of recycled content are high, requiring at least 80% post-consumer recycled plastics in all certified products.

As part of the requirements to obtain the Blue Angel label, applicant companies must provide a certificate to verify the origin and composition of the supplied recycled materials. With this new recognition, any recycler certified under RecyClass Recycling Process Certification would therefore be considered as a verified supplier of recyclates.

The Blue Angel acknowledgement is yet another milestone that will bring increasing recognition of the RecyClass Schemes at the EU level and beyond. In parallel, RecyClass intends to continuously develop the schemes with the expertise of all value chain players to ensure all market and legislative requirements are included within its scope.
