To support the industry in designing plastic packaging and products that are compatible with existing recycling processes, the RecyClass Recyclability Methodology sets out transparent, science-based principles and assessment methods to determine the recyclability of plastic materials. It represents the foundation of the Design for Recycling Guidelines, Recyclability Evaluation Protocols, RecyClass Online Tool and Recyclability Certifications.
RecyClass approach
According to the RecyClass Methodology, classes A, B and C are considered recyclable, as the quality of the recyclate produced is good enough to be used in closed-loop or cascade open-loop applications. Detailed definitions for each class can be found in the Methodology.

RECYCLASS DESIGN BOOK
The Design Book is a detailed guide, aiming to familiarise users with the concept of design for recycling though a series of practical examples per packaging waste streams.
