three types of assessments are available:

How to get started?

Check your eligibility

To be eligible for RecyClass Recyclability Certification, all design features of your packaging must be covered by the RecyClass Design for Recycling Guidelines.

Run an Online Tool Analysis

Head to the RecyClass Online Tool & run a free, self-assessment for the packaging you would like to certify. The results of this self-assessment will give a first indication of the packaging recyclability, but it may differ from the final result obtained following the audit.

Choose a Certification Body

To get certified, you are invited to contact one of the recognised, third-party Certification Bodies who will guide you through the process.

List of Certification Bodies

Sign the Certification Agreement

Sign a Certification Agreement and an NDA to officialise the application. The Certification Body will request a list of documents prior to the audit, which are needed to assess the products to be certified.

Audit & Certificate

The Certification is granted after the audit is successfully carried out. The issued Certificates are valid for three years, after which they must be renewed.
